For a while now, I’ve been experimenting with live performances using as small a set-up as possible. This comes after decades performing with laptops, and a few performing with modular synths. Now I’m trying to do without a laptop where I can, and working with small ‘table-top’ rigs. I’m using mini-modulars, guitar pedals, and tabletop drum-machines (Elektron Machinedrum, as in the Sonic State video here) and synths (Novation Peak). Also sometimes contact microphones and acoustic instruments and objects. I’ve been collaborating quite a lot with these performances, most recently with drummer Dave Smith and producer Ken Peel.
